B&V backs empath-e in Sage Awards 2010
Friday, 29 October 2010
B&V congratulates empath-e for winning the 2010 Sage Award for ‘Extraordinary Customer Service’ in the ‘Most Innovative Deployment of a CRM Solution’ and ‘Outstanding Customer Experience’ category. As a leading provider of Customer Relationship Management solutions to businesses throughout the UK and beyond, empath-e overcame stiff competition to win this prestigious award on behalf of O.W. Bunker & Trading A/S, a world-leading bunker supplier and trader to the marine industry, based in Denmark.
Taking six months, empath-e succeeded where two other suppliers had failed. From design and development to integration, implementation and maintenance, empath-e delivered a multi-functional CRM system tailored to the client’s precise specifications. An ongoing contract is also in place for further design and development to maximise productivity and performance. The project required and received 100% self-sacrifice to bring it to completion on time and within budget.
empath-e MD, Mike Spragg, comments: "This award is fantastic news and endorses our commitment to customer service and the development of SalesLogix project solutions. It is also immensely positive for our customer, O.W. Bunker & Trading A/S, especially as they are rolling out the project to a further eight countries over the next few weeks!”
B&V was delighted to play a supportive role to a tight deadline in helping empath-e go the extra distance to put a polished product before the Sage judges – as Mike Spragg enthuses: “Thanks for your efforts – we won! I’m really very pleased as you can imagine – but I do believe the format had quite a bit to do with it as well”.
With days to spare, the project was drafted by B&V’s on-holiday copywriter (what a trouper!) and dropped into a bespoke-designed layout by a senior designer. Result? An outstanding example of customer service showcased to award-winning effect.
empath-e collects the award, the use of the strapline and unique logo, on Wednesday, 3rd November, at Sage Visions in Milton Keynes.

The Pride of Andover
Thursday, 7 October 2010
This week saw the culmination of several months' work towards the Pride of Andover Awards - and what an event it was! Let me explain...as part of our PR services for Stannah I co-ordinate the company's local sponsorship and arising PR of people, groups and events in Andover. Four years ago The Andover Advertiser circulated the idea of an event to honour the unsung heroes in the Andover community and Stannah were only too pleased to support the idea. That idea grew and, to cut a long story short, on Tuesday the fourth Pride of Andover Awards took place at The Lights in Andover.
I feel fortunate to represent Stannah on the organising committee, joining representatives from all the sponsors and supporters of the awards. Joint sponsors with Stannah are Simplyhealth and The Andover Advertiser along with additional supporters Testway Housing, Andover Vision and Andover Sound.
Oh no you say, not another Awards night! OK you have a point but these are different. These are for individuals who have been nominated by the folks of Andover and are genuinely surprised that what they may have done (sometimes for decades) is really appreciated! The Awards were presented by Esther Rantzen, who kindly gives her time in return for a donation to Childline. Every year she asks if she can come again next year. The host for the evening was Richard Cartridge and he and Esther are like a cheeky double-act. But the stars of the evening were the nominees whose stories of kindness, bravery, dedication, support, volunteer work and love continue to humble the audience year after year. Esther's outstanding people skills eked out some heart-stopping moments as she had the audience laughing and crying in almost equal amounts.
This year thirty people were honoured by their own community and I admit I shed a tear for someone I didn't even know. Jacqui Gentlemen lost her 13-year old sporty son in an accident several years ago. Since then she has set up the Jamie G Trust to raise money to enable youngsters to enjoy sport in her son's memory. But it wasn't her story that moved me to tears -it was the standing ovation the audience of two hundred and fifty people gave Jacqui when her name was announced, it was truly a goose pimple moment!
